Freelance Writing Jobs For Moms: A Quick Guide

Let’s be honest, we all know that freelancing is a very tough career path to follow. However, it is actually not that demanding if you do it as a part-time job. It could prove to be a good source of extra income and yet it wouldn’t affect your daily routines that much. The things that might change would be the time that you spend watching T.V.! But essentially, you are just exchanging that for more money, so why not!

As a person working at home, you should be prepared to make some extra cash whenever possible, which is why you should start freelance writing. This is a quick guide to lead you to your success.

Start with small jobs

Everyone dreams big and that is perfectly normal. However, you must know your limits as well. You’re most likely not going to be paid $1 per word when you first start freelancing! That’s not realistic.

However, it would be nice if you could just start with $0.8 per 100 words, as long as it is constant work! Then, as you gain reputation, you could charge more! Be ambitious, but also conservative at the same time.

Be motivated

Motivation is so important in the freelancing world. Nobody is there to tell you what to do and you must be self-motivated. Just think, if you don’t work, you don’t get paid. It’s that simple.

If clients and prospective clients see that you are putting in the hard work, then they might hire you for future projects or even refer you to other clients!

Don’t spend more than 5 hours per day on it

Okay, this is a part time job and making money could be addictive. But never spend more than 5 hours on it! It’s not your career and you’ve got other priorities! Make sure you know what you are doing; otherwise it could become pretty blurry!

Write for topics you’re interested in

This is a must. You should only write for topics that you know and you have a genuine interest in it. It would not be wise if you do something that you don’t even like! If you do that, clients will able to tell and you could get a bad review. It’s not worth it!

Simply go for something that you love. If you don’t see it today, check back another day! Remember, this is freelancing and jobs change everyday!

Hopefully this guide is useful to you!
